Tipis in Asia and America

Most Americans only associate tipis with American Indians who live(d) on the Great Plains American States. The distance between Mongolia, and the Great Plains States of ​Colorado, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, Iowa, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, and Wyoming are very far apart.

Below is a close-up of the "tipi" in Mongolia, used by the Mongolian Dhukha people. They are reindeer herders.

Is the relationship between Asians and American Indians closer than one would normally think?

Unfortunately, Pine Ridge Reservation for the Oglala, Lakota people is one of the poorest communities in America. Russell Means is an advocate for that community and has testified before the United States Senate for his people: ​
